Which Breast Implant Placement Provides The Most Natural Appearance?

WHICH BREAST IMPLANT PLACEMENT PROVIDES THE MOST NATURAL APPEARANCE?

Several factors can influence the final outcome of your breast augmentation. From the breast implant type to your desired size, you will have different options to choose from during your consultation with Houston plastic surgeon, Dr. Sam Sukkar. One of these decisions will be the placement of your breast implantseither over or under the pectoralis muscle. This is a major factor that can affect how natural your results look. During your consultation, Dr. Sukkar will perform a physical examination and listen to what you hope to achieve through surgery to ultimately recommend which placement is best for your needs.

In general, breast implants placed under the muscle tend to look natural on more women. Since more tissue covers the implant, a more subtle breast slope is achieved. This technique is especially recommended for patients with very little breast tissue present, since the extra layer of muscle will help disguise the implant.

Placement of breast implants over the muscle, however, can be a preferred option for some individuals. If there is an adequate amount of breast tissue already present, the implants may provide a natural look without the additional layer of muscle. When breast implants are placed over the muscle, this typically provides a more comfortable and faster recovery period.

In the end, both options can provide beautiful results for the right candidates. This is why it is important to schedule a consultation to discuss your cosmetic goals, allowing Dr. Sukkar to help you make an informed decision about your procedure. Contact us to book your appointment!

How Do I Choose The Right Breast Implant Shape And Size?

Selecting the right breast implants can be a highly stressful part of the breast augmentation process. Many women are concerned about going too large or not choosing the best shape for their frame. These worries are very common, and to help calm your fears, Dr. Sam Sukkar takes the time to educate you on the different options available and what kind of results you can expect from each.

During your consultation, Dr. Sukkar will take measurements of your breast and chest. These dimensions will help him recommend the best size of implant based on your cosmetic goals and your body structure. Measuring your chest width, specifically, will provide crucial information for determining the best implant shape and profile for achieving your desired results.

In the end, the shape and size of breast implants for your surgery are ultimately your choice. However, Houston plastic surgeon Dr. Sam Sukkar is committed to helping you make an informed decision about your procedure and will respect the conclusion to which you come. Am I Too Old For Breast Augmentation?

Breast augmentation is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures performed every year, and women of a wide age range undergo the procedure without any difficulty. Although some individuals worry they’re too old for breast augmentation, when it comes down to it, your health is the deciding factor for whether you are a good candidate for breast augmentation – not your age.

During your initial consultation, Houston plastic surgeon, Dr. Sam Sukkar, will go over your medical history and perform a comprehensive exam to determine if you could achieve your desired results from breast implants. Since the body undergoes several changes as we age, older patients may have different needs from someone who is in their 20s. For example, the breasts may begin to descend on the chest wall, due to pregnancy, breastfeeding, or the natural aging process. If this is the case, Dr. Sukkar may recommend a breast lift in addition to or in place of a breast augmentation (often referred to simply as a breast augmentation with lift).

In the end, our goal is to help you achieve your dream body and feel confident and beautiful. If breast augmentation is not right for you, Dr. Sukkar will help you find an alternative solution that may help you get closer to your ideal appearance. Do I Need A Breast Augmentation Or Lift?

DO I NEED A BREAST AUGMENTATION OR LIFT?

Many women come to Sukkar Aesthetic Plastic Surgery & Medical Spa wishing to alter their breasts but aren’t sure which procedure is right for them. To determine the right solution for your needs, Dr. Sam Sukkar will conduct a physical examination while also listening to what you hope to achieve through surgery. Based on this information, he can establish whether you need a breast augmentation and/or a lift.

In general, breast augmentation is ideal for those who wish to enhance the size and shape of their breasts. The procedure can restore volume if the breasts begin to look deflated, such as after breastfeeding, or if the patient simply wants to increase their breast size. Additionally, the use of breast implants can help improve symmetry.

breast lift, on the other hand, is designed to raise the tissue to a more youthful position on the chest wall, which can include lifting the areola if it has descended below the level of the breast crease. The breast lift procedure provides beautiful results for those with moderate to severe drooping of the breasts.

Should a patient have more severe drooping and also desires an increase in their breast size, a breast augmentation combined with a lift may be the best option. To learn which option(s) can help you reach your aesthetic goals, please contact our office to schedule your consultation.

Is Breast Reduction Right For Me?

Not all women interested in breast surgery are looking to increase the size of their breasts. Some women desire to restore sagging or disproportionate breasts that have been affected by pregnancy and breast feeding. Other women have an overabundance of breast tissue and seek to ease neck and back pain while improving the fit of clothing. Breast reduction surgery (or reduction mammoplasty) can often be an excellent option for decreasing the size of your breasts while achieving proportionate results that can enhance your overall appearance.

Houston plastic surgeon, Dr. Sam Sukkar, listens carefully to your aesthetic concerns during the consultation process to ensure you and he are both working toward the same cosmetic goals. Some women who visit us at The Clinic for Plastic Surgery, believe they want a breast reduction, but would actually benefit more from a breast lift. In addition, many of Dr. Sukkar’s patients are interested in combining a breast reduction with a body contouring procedure such as liposuction or a tummy tuck for a more dramatic rejuvenation. Regardless of which approach you select, Dr. Sukkar’s primary goal with any breast reduction is to meet each woman’s unique expectations while providing natural-looking results.

Two Techniques For Gynecomastia Treatment

TWO TECHNIQUES FOR GYNECOMASTIA TREATMENT

Although all men have some glandular breast tissue, some individuals experience an excess or swelling of this tissue. The common condition, known as Gynecomastia, is often caused by a hormone imbalance. Fortunately, gynecomastia is often easily treatable.

At The Clinic for Plastic Surgery, we can help men of all ages achieve a flatter, more sculpted chest through male breast reduction surgery. There are two main ways in which we perform male breast reduction surgery to treat gynecomastia. The first method is a bit less extensive, since the cosmetic concern can often be addressed quickly and simply with liposuction. This technique is also considered to be less invasive, and it is generally most effective when the main cause of enlarged breasts is an excess of fatty tissue.

For patients who have glandular breast tissue that is disproportionate with the rest of the chest and body, a more extensive male breast reduction procedure is often recommended to create the desired look. This technique requires the excision of glandular tissue to reduce the size of the breasts, and it sometimes involves the removal of excess skin. Regardless of which approach is needed, Houston plastic surgeon, Dr. Sam Sukkar, is extremely careful during surgery to minimize the risk of scarring. Because the male chest is often more visible, his goal is to avoid noticeable scarring altogether while achieving a result that appears naturally proportionate and firm.

If you believe you may be experiencing gynecomastia, or if you have any questions about male breast reduction surgery, please contact us today to schedule a consultation with Dr. Sukkar.

Preventing Complications With Implant Displacement Exercises

PREVENTING COMPLICATIONS WITH IMPLANT DISPLACEMENT EXERCISES

The best way to prevent postoperative complications is to understand what you can do, or refrain from doing, to facilitate a problem-free recovery. For example, a common problem that arises in patients who have recently received breast implants is the condition called capsular contracture. This occurs when scar tissue forms around the implant, often leading to firm, misshapen implants. To help prevent this complication, Dr. Sam Sukkar recommends certain breast augmentation patients practice implant displacement exercises following their surgery.

Patients with smooth, round saline or silicone implants should perform displacement exercises, or gentle massaging of the breasts, starting approximately two weeks following their surgery. Dr. Sukkar explains that massaging the implants helps preserve some of the space around the implants. As a result, the healing process is less likely to cause hardened scar tissue to constrict the implants. Instead, they can move more naturally, rather than being fixed in one position.

While implant displacement exercises can be a productive way to prevent scar tissue from forming, Dr. Sukkar warns that not all patients with breast implants should do them. People with teardrop-shaped or textured implants should not massage their implants, as they are not designed to move, and this can create unnecessary complications. Dr. Sukkar recommends all breast augmentation patients consult with their surgeon before beginning the massage regimen to determine whether it is right for them.
